As one of the founders of Concordia I have incorporated gemstones and their naturally occurring spiritual and wellness qualities in my own life for over 25 years. I originally began noticing that I was strongly attracted to certain gemstones over others and also noted that when I either held or wore different gemstones, I felt different energies. Intuitively I knew that there must be “universal energies” stored within the stones. I began to research my attraction to the gemstones and the unique energies I felt from the stones. Through research, I came to understand that gemstones have been utilized in all cultures and religions and because of their intrinsic qualities they became sacred to many. As I incorporated gemstones into my metaphysical practice, I came to understand that there is a metaphysical relationship between the individual holding the stone and the stone itself. The individual may be holding a stone which is know for particular quality such as “balance”, and when the individual sets their intention with the piece, a resonance is created. The resonance placement paradigm is commonly used to explain how physical and spiritual qualities of gemstones work. This focuses on the healing power of the crystals or gemstones themselves. This can be demonstrated simply by utilizing a vibrating tuning fork. When a second tuning fork of the same frequency, which is not yet vibrating, is brought close to the first tuning fork, the second tuning fork begins vibrating because of the resonance created, since they are of the same frequency. This principal has been utilized with pendulum clocks as well. The color, shape and composition of the stones are thought to create a resonance or energy that allows healing to take place. This is how the resonance placement paradigm creates a more harmonious energy to surround the individual. Gemstones have been used as complementary or alternative medical techniques and when combined with Western Medical treatments this can give each individual the power to positively impact their own health. As someone who has faced a number of significant health challenges, I am able to say with confidence that my gemstones have been a significant part of my daily routine. I have shared this with family and friends, many of whom have also adopted this practice.
